Zinzil ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Zinzil you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — email address, password (hashed), date of birth, gender (if provided), preferences.
• Conversation data — messages you exchange with AI characters, including memory notes the system builds from those conversations to provide continuity.
• Usage data — device type, browser, operating system, IP address (approximate location only), pages viewed, session duration.
• Payment information — handled entirely by third-party payment processors; we do not store card numbers.

2. How we use information

• To provide the service — personalize AI responses, remember context, deliver features you pay for.
• To improve the product — aggregate, anonymized analytics to understand which features work.
• To keep the service safe — detect abuse, fraud, and content violations.
• To contact you — essential account emails (verification, password resets, billing). Marketing emails only with your consent.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your data. We share information only with:

• Service providers who process data on our behalf (hosting, email, payment processing, AI model providers such as OpenAI). They are contractually bound to confidentiality.
• Legal authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users.

4. Data retention

We retain account and conversation data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently remove personal data within 30 days except where legally required to retain it longer (e.g. billing records).

5. Your rights

• Access a copy of your data.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your account and associated conversations.
• Export your data in a machine-readable format.
• Opt out of marketing communications at any time.

6. Age requirement

Zinzil is for users 18 and older. We verify age at registration using date of birth. Accounts of users who misrepresent their age will be terminated.

7. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, password hashing (bcrypt), and secure authentication tokens. No system is perfect — if we discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you promptly.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and a small number of analytics cookies. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser without affecting core functionality.

9. International users

Zinzil operates from India. If you access the service from another country, your data may be transferred to and processed in India. By using the service, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be emailed to registered users. The latest version is always available at this URL.
